  • The client is an Indian electric utility and electricity generation company and is a pioneer in technology adoption, supporting the country’s energy independence.
  • While leveraging the latest technology, they intended to deliver solutions to their challenges through agility and customer centricity.
  • The outcomes are digital, strengthened with a few physical solutions as well.
  • How might we design a standard operating procedure for the customer including emergency instructions with evolving trials using Coal near to design value, automated controls to achieve optimal ramp rates to reduce chances of wide parameter variations and undue stresses in Boiler and Turbine components.
How did we support:
  • We suggested a Design Thinking approach to get the outcome with agility and worked with the business leaders on the following activities:
    • Step 1 – Setup & Planning (Objectives, Cross functional teams, Sponsor orientation, challenge identification)
    • Step 2 – Design solutions through 30-week Design Thinking & Agile engagement
    • Step 3 – Solution implementation using agile practices

  • Implementation of a coal flow bias logic to cater the effect of pressure deviation
  • Dynamic gain and reset for better control on operating parameters
  • Air flow balancing and usage of RH metal temp bias logic to prevent metal temp excursions
